This is a great recipe and a quick one to make. It was always a popular one when we had candy exchanges during the holidays.

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
3 T. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (not real fine-a little chunky)

Cook on low to medium heat stirring constantly to hard cracked stage 300-310 degrees on the candy thermometer. Remove from heat and pour onto greased cookie sheets. Cover with chocolate chips.   Spread.
Sprinkle on nuts.

Let cool and crack into pieces.

It is a real treat!!!

Enjoy,
Gogi
